OK I know I'm a week or two late with this post but I just had to say something quick about how much I love this picture! it just genuinely seems to me that they are a team and in love!
OK so it may seem like kind of a soft post, but I'm strong enough to do it. Honestly I see nothing wrong with me romancing the thought of True Love! Though I may not be in it and I don't seem like I will be anytime soon. I am a hopeless romantic who thinks about Love sometimes and romances the thought of being romantic with the love of my life Whomever she may be in the future!!!
Recently on a mixtape LEGENDARY rapper Ice-T had this to say
In June 2008, Ice-T criticized Soulja Boy for "killing hip-hop" on DJ Cisco’s Urban Legend mixtape. In the mixtape, Ice-T said, “Fuck Soulja Boy". Eat a dick. This nigga single handedly killed Hip Hop.” He then criticized "Crank That", saying, "That shit is such garbage man. We came all the way from Rakim, we came all the way from Das EFX, we came all the way from motherfuckers flowing like Big Daddy Kane and Ice Cube, and you come with that Superman shit? That shit is garbage.” Ice-T also goes after Hurricane Chris (rapper), saying, “Hurricane take them fucking beads out of your hair nigga. Man up. You niggas is making me feel real fucking mad about this shit.
I found this truly hilarious and wondered why it took so long for someone prominent to the game to say this shit!!!(excuse my language) But I had been saying this for so long my peers agreed but it just seemed like no one in the Game (past or present) was addressing it until The LEGEND Ice-T.
Soulja Boy's Response
So after watching this Soulja Boy Got less respect from me because I just feel like he should not have said anything. His groupies made him look whack and him Disrespecting a legend and not just keeping his mouth shut didn't surprise me "kids these Days" his response was not funny and sounded like a Cry for help! (maybe he knows he can't rap?)
But on the other hand he did make a couple good points *I respect Soulja boy's entrepreneurship mindset and the fact that he made it * Ice T really didn't have to tell the little kid to "Eat a Dick" * and maybe he was sort of right when he said Ice T could have reached out to him and helped his skills
But then I started to realize little kids like that very seldom take well to advice they must mature first, just listened to how he responded(CHILD)....... Then Ice T responded with this Video
This was the perfect response and I Felt that this in fact is what Ice-T should have put out in the first place! Much respect to this Video! *Especially at the end when his says "I'm 16 EAT A DICK soulja Boy"
he is a fad that survived off of Kid's and White people Soulja Boy is POP and A blatant disrespect to the art form of HIP-HOP, if u want to make dance music do so and name it such! but when u take Rhythm and Poetry and change it to make it whack! you are in Fact trying to Kill HIP HOP (which I think will never Die because of other strong Artist) but I wish u would Resign from making music or study the game and start producing something that sounds respectable!!!! so now I just can not wait for this mans 15 minutes to fade out! I hope he saved some money!!
REASONS WHY *Fact Lil Wayne has held the Most anticipated album title for two years str8 in anticipation for the Carter 3 *Fact Lil Wayne has tied the record with T-pain for most songs in the top 100 at 1 time with 7 *Fact The Hip Hop industry has seen a 21% decrease in record sales in 2007 *Fact Lil Wayne sold 413,000 units after day one of the release of the Carter 3 *Fact According to Billboard, Tha Carter III is the first album since 50 Cent’s The Massacre in March 2005 to break a million copies sold. Kanye West’s Graduation came the closest, selling 957,000 units its first week in September 2007. * Fact making the Carter III Platinum after just one week * Fact Lil Wayne had 77 tracks in 2007 with out a repeat Verse (More than any rapper in one year to date) *Opinion Lil Wayne is the Hottest Rapper out as out with all those facts to back it
One can tell that Lil Wayne is a student of the game, He is reminiscent of Rakim "the Great". Rakim Fathered a style!!! His delivery, His flow, the way that he rode the beat and made people feel every thump,Rhyme,Metaphor, simile, was unprecedented! a New Style and Voice just made for a smooth ride on any track!
Lil Wayne's Flow,Delivery ,Punchlines, and the way he rides a beat are that of most of the greats in the history in hip-hop. It just makes for an easy listen and catch phrases that last for years!
Lil Wayne brought about a change in the game as well With the birth of the Carter II BAPE was the hoodies of choice and MOB was a slogan posted on even white boy's Facebook/Myspace pages. The Age of rockstar style has also been fostered by Lil Wayne
two the people that say that Lil Wayne says nothing in his rhythms or cannot stay on one Topic you must not have listened to the following tracks "just to name a few"
* Earthquake-Carter I * Hustler Musik-Carter II * Georgia... Bush-Dedication II * The Sky is the Limit- Da Drought 3 disk 1 * Crazy-Da Drought 3 disk 2 * 1st Key-Like Father,Like Son *MY PERSONAL FAVORITE I Like Dat- Lil Weezyana
But there is just to many for me to name!!!
Comparisons LIL Wayne is a mixture
Tupac- Similar attitude to the thug life mentality and Style with the ability to connect to the hood and bring about sensitive contious songs! (Reference to Blood gang/Tattoos/ and Style)
Rakim- "refer to the top of the Blog"
Jay-Z- Swagger ( When Jay Changed styles others did as well)
Kanye West- Ingenuity and Creativity
So now with all of this being said it is time to be honest, I was not a Wayne fan when he first came in it took me a long time to start respecting his craft, but it is undeniable! even if u hate Wayne there is atleast 1 song that you do like! he is the Rapper of now!
The Word Religion is defined by dictionary.com as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
This word is MAN MADE
As a child in my household my Mother was not big on Religion she said she grew up Catholic, and did not like how as a child she was forced every Sunday to attend church and sometimes my grandparents would not even go.Futhermore she could not understand how "EVERYTHING" was a sin i.e. Birth control. By the time I was born My mother just felt that she did not have to go to church to have a relationship with GOD.
When I moved down to N.C. Religion became HUGE, if u were not a Christian you were a heathen and going to hell fast. So when I was younger I felt Christianity to be the pick for me it made sense to me and I still think that Jesus Died for our Sins.
But through the years these were some things that did not make sense
Why were Christians the ones who enslaved my people and forced their religion upon us?
Why Would God take us through slavery?
Why Did a group of politicians feel it important to change Catholicism?
Why would God let the Holocaust happen and how could Christians go along with it and just be so anti-semitic?
why do these religions share some of the same books?
so you are telling me Gandhi is going to hell?
The Bible was man written
some things from the Bible were taken out!
How could anyone say that Jesus was not black?
How could Phyliss Wheatley say "Twas Mercy that took me from my pagean land"
These are just a few of the questions that racked my brain, but I was not old or rebellious enough to challenge my own faith in the search of truth.
To me this poem sizes up how I feel about religion!
Yahweh God Jehovah Jah Rastafarian Allah Ma'ad Humdi Lila
I respect everybody's religion and to be honest our God's might all be the same! Who am I to Be like America has been and say that your God is not Right? America has people thinking in this "great melting pot that being a Muslim is Anti-American" I am in search of truth with no specific Religion! My faith realies in the idea that the Truth of God is in our heart and I will continue to search for truth.
So I was watching my favorite comedic cartoon last night it was a re-run entitled Return Of The King! In short the episode went back in history and explored what if Martin Luther King Jr. was still Alive, what if he did not get killed by the shot on the Balcony?
While sitting back and watching the episode it explored something that was very real to me. If Martin Luther King Jr. was alive today I think they would sort have exhaled him or just like in the episode the youth would feel as if he is out of touch with today's society! I feel they would treat him just as they treat Bill Cosby. They say that Bill is out of touch with his community and he has lost a lot of his ability to speak to the youth and be understood! If King was here today they would treat him like and old senile man! Not the legend that we have placed him as today, I think they would taint his legacy and the worst part about it is it would be our own people.
I was speaking to My Mom about the issue after we watched the episode and she agreed, she said even right before he died some people were feeling as if he was losing touch. They did not feel that his opinions and his thoughts could live and be respected with Brother Malcolm's and the starting up of the Black Panther's Party for self defense.
We Will never know how the response to King would be in 2008 But I think the Boondocks was very right when they showed him just spaze out and tell everyone what was truly on his mind about how his people, how his dream is not leaving up to his expectations. But I don't think HIS people would be able to take the honest truths about themselves I think they would Just say that King "Just needs to retire and be quite cause he does not know what he is talking about" And that Saddens me that people do not want to hear/face the truth!
